WHAT MAKES FREYA, FREYA
My Desert Island Discs would be a mix of Maggie Rogers, Taylor Swift and every musical maybe ever (I'm talking Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lin Manuel Miranda, the full works). My luxury 'item' would be my pug Jambo, he is the best of the best. His name means hello in swahili so don't be surprised if he pops up on a call, or if you hear his dulcet snores (he's often found snoozing on my lap).
Born and raised on the edge of the Peak District, I still find walks and listening to the birds sing very grounding. Any venture out into nature is always a bit of me, I'm training for a 100k Ultra in the Peaks at the moment (check back at the end of July and I'll let you know how it went).
A traveller to my core, I’ve explored-most of Europe, Sri Lanka, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali, Australia, Japan, China, North America, Canada, South Africa, Dubai, Russia, to name a few… A good convo starter is to ask where I did my ski season…
I’m a sucker for a good coffee table & cook book. My go-to recipes, be it a meal for 2, 6 or more, can be found in A Table for Friends-Skye McAlpine, Simple-Ottolenghi, Salt Fat Acid Heat-Samin Nosrat, Chilli Notes-Thomasina Miers… these always come out when I'm in the kitchen.
